A print button on any record, not just transactions

Tell us what you're paying

Branded documents from any standard or custom record, pulling related records, sublists and saved-search results into the same template. Ask and we will walk you through the document output deck.

PDF Document Generator

NetSuite prints transactions well. Everything else is hard. When the document has to come from a project, employee, customer, vendor, item, case or custom record — or has to combine that record with its related records, sublists and a saved search — there are two options. Accept the basic print-screen output, or write the framework: a User Event to add the button, a Suitelet to render, N/render data sources, a FreeMarker template.

Partners write that framework again on the next engagement, and the one after. It is the same script every time, maintained separately in every client account.

Oracle's own PDF Generator SuiteSolution narrows the gap but does not close it. Bulk print is capped at fifty records and supports transactions only. A record gets one default template and one saved search. And it is not supported, maintained or upgraded by Oracle.

Nothing generated is saved, attached or logged unless custom code does it. There is no archive trail for a document that came from a record rather than a transaction.

What's in the scope

  • A configurable print button on any standard or custom record, in view and edit mode
  • Print profiles as configuration rather than code — record type, template, button label, roles, subsidiaries and data sources
  • Related-record data sources: parent, child and linked records and sublists, with no three-record cap
  • Multiple templates per record, with a picker when more than one profile applies
  • Saved-search and SuiteQL data sources, filtered by the record in hand
  • Bulk print from a saved search, merged into one PDF, with progress and a result link
  • The generated PDF saved to a File Cabinet folder and attached to the source record
  • Email from the record using a NetSuite email template, logged as a message
  • A generation audit log — who generated what, when, under which profile
  • A starter template library for customer, vendor, employee, project, item, case and custom records
  • A preview harness to test a profile before it goes live
  • A partner deployment kit: SDF project and config export and import between accounts

Who it's for, and what it doesn't do

Who this is for

Partner practice leads and consultants who have rebuilt a print framework one time too many. NetSuite administrators who need to maintain templates without a developer. Controllers who need branded, archived, auditable documents from the records that are not transactions.

PDF only, and no direct-to-printer

The renderer produces PDF. Excel, CSV, HTML and Word output, and direct-to-printer, are outside the scope.

No electronic signature

We hand the PDF to DocuSign or Adobe Sign rather than compete with them.

Bulk runs from a saved search

Selecting records from a list view, and one PDF per record in a ZIP, are Phase 2. Saved-search bulk covers the same need.

Triggers and routing rules come later

Generation triggered on create, approval or workflow action, and template routing by subsidiary or language, are Phase 2.

How to start the conversation

Tell us which record types you need documents from, how many templates you maintain today, and whether the output has to be archived against the record.

Start with your number

Send us the line item you want to replace: the vendor, the annual number and what it is priced on. We will tell you plainly whether we can replace it, and quote it in two lines: the license, and any services you choose to add.
